    Hi, i’m using the family filter DNS servers. Works fine on a Win10 laptop (Google safe search enforced, YouTube restricted mode enabled and cannot be turned off, etc). However on an iPad, YouTube isn’t in restricted mode. Google safe search is working properly though. I’ve tried rebooting the iPad, turning aeroplane mode on/off to clear DNS cache, etc, etc.. I think once I had YouTube go to restricted but it’s just not staying on permanently.

    I have configured the DNS servers manually on the iPad. I did try the app too, but that doesn’t seem reliable either (YouTube still unrestricted).

    As it’s working properly on a laptop, is this an iOS thing? It’s like it’s ignoring the DNS servers i’ve set and just using something else.

    Hi

    When using iOS devices we recommend using the app. Mobile devices are doing a lot of funny things with encrypted DNS that allow it to bypass local network configurations. It’s going to be a much better experience to use the apps.
