Twitter

Would you consider blocking twitter for the same reason that you block reddit?

Although not primarily a platform for porn etc. there are thousands of porn videos available to access. You don’t need to log in or create an account, and to ‘verify age’ you just click view content.

I have CleanBrowsing installed on our router but there is still free access to inappropriate content on twitter.

I’d be interested to hear your thoughts.

Twitter is a tough one that we are investigating.

We used to block it in the past and many people (including parents and schools) complained that they use it quite a bit.

Would be awesome to try to enforce a safe-mode there, which is what we are trying to get.

    Thanks for the heads up!

I think that Twitter is the biggest porn social site in the world. Not even porn sites manage to beat Twitter.

If you block Reddit, i think you need to block twitter too, and post all your news about CleanBrowsing on your official site.

I agree that Twitter can be used for genuinely good purposes but so can Reddit, and the comments section of Youtube etc. Surely Twitter would be considered a “mixed content site” maybe not by design of the creators of Twitter. Also there is even less moderation of Twitter than there is of Reddit. If Reddit is blocked in the Family Filter would you not consider blocking Twitter in the Family Filter but making it available in the Adult Filter?

I appreciate your difficulties of not being able to cater to everyone’s needs but I personally find it odd you would block Reddit but not Twitter.

Thanks for your response, appreciate the speed of the feedback.

Please at least block these sites, they can circumvent Twitter’s age restrictions (if they exist at all?)

Websites that can circumvent Twitter and Instagram’s age restrictions

    Hi

Right now we won’t be blocking Twitter on the free services. The platform is too deeply integrated with a users digital social presence which makes it extremely controversial to disable on a free service. You can, however, disable it for your specific needs via one of our plans. We have monthly plans to make it extremely affordable.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but hope you can understand that we have to walk a very fine line when it comes to our free services.

    Thanks
