Do you have any documents discussing privacy and data retention?
Failing that, can you let me know what data you store if I use your DNS service and how long you hold it for?
Thanks
Joe
Hi Joe,
Absolutely. We specify it on our privacy policy here: https://cleanbrowsing.org/privacy
But to summarize, we treat privacy very seriously and we subscribe to this simple philosophy: Data that does not exist can not be stolen, compromised or shared. If you are using our free DNS, for example, we do not log your DNS requests, we do not log your IP addresses or what you are doing. Our block pages generate a NXDOMAIN, and it is not redirected to a tracking page.
Hope it clarifies.
Hi Daniel
I didn’t spot the “Privacy” link in the page footer
The policy looks comprehensive
Are you willing to divulge what Public DNS resolver data you retain for debugging and for how long etc?
>Public Resolver Users. We use information we collect from Public Resolver Users to operate and improve the CleanBrowsing Resolver, such as to assist us in our debugging efforts if an issue arises. We do not use or store any Public Resolver User personal information
Thanks

Mostly errors, things like DNSSEC failures and when we can’t connect to a specific DNS server.
We store them locally only for a few days and the logs are rotated/cleared.
thanks!
