DNS Leak Test returning 2 servers

Forums Service Issues Setups & Configurations DNS Leak Test returning 2 servers

I’m running asuswrt on my router and it has a section to configure DNS Over TLS (Strict Profile) of which I’ve added both Cleanbrowsing servers (ie. 185.228.168.9, 185.228.169.9) with host security-filter-dns.cleanbrowsing.org.

When I do a leak test from dnsleaktest.com with Chrome browser I get two servers:

144.202.86.201 dns-edge-usa-west-seattle.cleanbrowsing.org. Choopa, LLC Seattle, United States
147.75.68.129 None Packet Host Parsippany, United States

I was only expecting one… the first one. Is the second server part of cleanbrowsing?

I’ve also tried the same test on a stock Internet Explorer browser (which I never use) with no extensions and I get the same result.

PS> Asuswrt also has preconfigured dns-over-tls for quad9, opendns, etc. I’ve tried them all and dns leak test always returns 1 server for them. Not sure what is specific to cleanbrowsing to return 2 servers.

Yes, both are from CleanBrowsing. We leverage packet as part of our secondary network, so that’s expected.

Will check why the RDNS is not set for that IP.

    thanks,
