Is there a way to set a password on the Android app so it can’t be easily disabled?

Yes! It is actually available already if you go to the CleanBrowsing App->Settings. You will be able to set a PIN to prevent the App from being modified.

    thanks,

Thanks for the info above. But, further to that, my query is as follows: If you set up a PIN to prevent the App being modified without this PIN, does this prevent you from accessing Android phone settings or some other basic functionality of the Android phone?

I ask because of my experience with Net Nanny on Android. With that app, once you require a password to uninstall, you cannot access Android settings (eg switch from sound to mute – and all the other day to day settings you often want or need to modify). If you want to access these Android settings (and who doesn’t?), then you have to forego the password option – which means Net Nanny can be instantly uninstalled without needing access to the password. (I am an adult looking for some app which (i) blocks porn content on my Android but (ii) cannot be uninstalled without entering a password – which in my case would be held by another adult, not myself).

    Hi Naws1

No, it doesn’t prevent access to other device controls, only the app.

    Thanks

Hello, does setting a pin on the android app prevent it from getting uninstalled.

No. it can be uninstalled. It can also be forced to stop by going to the App Info and clicking on the “force stop” button.
