avoid bypassing DNS protection

Forums Service Issues Setups & Configurations avoid bypassing DNS protection

Hello, I have, so far, on the home computers under Windows 10, used the free CleanBrowsing DNS addresses within the router that normally provides the internet connection for our household. This works well, in that as long as the teenagers stay on the household router connection, the browsing is quite safe. But the problem arises when the teenagers use their smartphone as a modem. Then the DNS addresses of the home router are bypassed. Is there a way for me to tell Windows 10 to use the CleanBrowsing DNS addresses in every connection made with the pc – whether it’s via the home router or via a smartphone ?
    Thanks,

    HI

Yes, there are ways of doing this but they are going to require advanced configurations. We released an article about DNS by user here: https://community.cleanbrowsing.org/knowledge-base/configure-cleanbrowsing-dns-for-different-users-on-windows/ and this scheduler will update every 5 minutes. You might also want to lock down the windows machine to prevent the user from making changes as described here: https://cleanbrowsing.org/articles/stop-dns-change-on-network

    Thanks
