I haven’t been able to get DNS Cloak to accept my Custom plan either.. 🙁

I use DNS Override with a custom configuration, but I think they have been issues with the App store because they are not always there. I have also seen a new app called WiFi DNS Changer – VPN that promotes the ability to use a custom DNS, but haven’t tried it. What did you end up doing?
